Made for NoMore.org, an organization working with women victims of assault, this film tells the story of Melissa St. Vil, a champion boxer who was assaulted by her trainer, through a poem Maya wrote for her that Melissa herself performs. The film was shot in monochrome and meant to look, sound and feel like a hand-crafted poem that gives victims of assault a voice in a legal system that has otherwise abandoned them. Melissa St. Vil’s trainer almost killed her, yet he ended up getting a plea deal that didn't include an hour of jail time.
